<p align="left">Since its opening in 1927, the hotel has been the gateway of western culture in Japan. The hotel has welcomed guests from all over the world, including foreign dignitaries and celebrities. There are the Rainbow Ballroom with artful plaster ceiling, and the room number 351 “The MacArthur Suite” beloved by General MacArthur. Widely loved western style dishes were first introduced here, such as Pudding a la mode (A caramel custard with fruit and fresh cream), and Shrimp Doria as well as Spaghetti Napolitana (a pasta in tomato sauce, with ham and vegetables). These dishes were created at the hotel and spread throughout Japan. The hotel and its furnishings have a long history and the hotel’s employees are vigilant about restoration and maintenance for guests’ appreciation and comfort.</p>
